Class Descriptions

My Dancer & Me, ages 0-3: You and your toddler can now join us for singing, dancing, and structured fun! A colorful playlist of up-tempo classics (think Splish Splash, When I'm 64, and I Love Rock & Roll) augments sing-along favorites. We'll take e a new, imaginative journey inspired by the music each week. You'll enjoy the energizing community that grows out of it as well as watching how much of what we do in class begins to filter into play at home. A kids and parent/caregiver class. 

GET MOVING! Creative Dance, age 4 & 5: ALDEN MOVES' signature approach to creative dance wraps method inside fun. Classes cultivate musicality and build strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, body awareness, and self-discipline. Dancers exercise their creativity while learning fundamentals like positions-of-the-feet, plié, élevé, sautés, and skips. ​

Pre-Ballet, ages 5.5-7: By around age 5.5, dancers are ready to start training the graceful lines and thoughtful movement we associate with ballet. Creative exercises engage minds and bodies, laying a solid technical foundation for progressing dance training to come while instilling a lifelong love of dance.​

Young Choreographers Creative Workshop, ages 7.5-10: Whether you have a trained dancer or simply an enthusiastic mover, this workshop will help build the strength, flexibility, and confidence needed to support movement creativity and exploration. A structured warm-up will explore the movement mechanics of lines, angles, and curves before improvisational games encourage participants to turn movement as upside down and inside out as they are inspired to take it.

Special Performance Opportunity!
A Midsummer Night's Dream Dance Performance Workshop (ages 5-12)
Come join us for a magical dance workshop inspired by Shakespeare's classic play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream"! This workshop is perfect for both new and experienced dancers aged 5-12 looking to expand their technique while unleashing their creativity.

Rehearsal Dates/Times: Mondays Apr 7 through June 9 (no class Apr 14 for Spring Break or May 26 for Memorial Day). Our 5-7 yr olds will have class and rehearsal from 4:15-5:00pm and 8-12 yr olds will work from 5:15-6:15pm.

Performance Date: Sunday, June 22

Full Cast Rehearsal: Saturday, June 21 from 10:30am-12:30pm
