DIRECTOR, Alden LaPagliaMs. LaPaglia's mission, as an artist and a teacher, is to inspire the way she has been inspired. She holds a dual BA in Dance and Psychology from Goucher College and received her Pilates certification under the direct tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Santo. Her early dance training at the School of Richmond Ballet (Richmond, VA) with teachers Arnott Mader, Jasmine Grace, Jerry Weiss, Susan Israel Massey, Malcolm Burn, and Judy Jacob ignited a fire that has never ceased to burn, and her experience performing in the professional company's production of The Nutcracker for nine years has shaped her approach to her own school.
Professionally, Alden has toured nationally as a featured dancer in Bye Bye Birdie, and danced in New York City as a soloist in annual Luigi Tributes and with Becky Radway Dance Projects, Incidents Physical Theater and choreographer Sarah Seely. Post-graduation she also performed at the Kennedy Center with Goucher's Choreographie Antique. Her choreography has been featured in Snorks and Pins' Romeo and Juliet, Angry Birds The Musical (West Village Musical Theater Festival), the Fourth Arts Block Festival, Dixon Place, APAP, Dance Parade NYC, and many other venues around NYC. Her one-of-a-kind, immersive production of The Nutcracker, running each year since 2014, is a true highlight of the holiday season. She's also proud to present her work locally for the Prospect Park South and Ditmas Park communities each year on the Main Stage at the Flatbush Frolic and the Church Ave Street Fairs.
