Workshop Description: The Sleeping Beauty
Rehearsals: Mondays, April 13-June 8 (no class Memorial Day, May 25)
Brush-Up Rehearsal & Make-up Week: TBD (according to mutual availability)
Performance: Saturday June 20

Our final Performance Workshop of the school year will be filled with enchantment as we step into the dreamy world of The Sleeping Beauty.

The final act of the ballet features a wedding so extravagant that it’s attended by fairy tale favorites like Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, Puss in Boots and the White Cat, and the dazzling Bluebird. In this workshop, dancers will try on these characters, build technique, and create a magical end-of-year performance.

Ages 0–3: Toddler & Parent/Child Class — Enchanted Forest Adventures
Mondays 3:30 - 4:00pm
Our youngest dancers and their grown-ups will explore the magical world of The Sleeping Beauty through music, props, and playful movement. Together, we’ll journey through the enchanted forest—fluttering like fairies, hopping like frogs, and frolicking with fairy tale characters—building coordination, connection, and a sense of adventure along the way.

Ages 6–8: Storybook Characters Come to Life
Mondays 4:15 - 5:00pm
Dancers will begin with a ballet-based warm-up to build coordination, musicality, and expressive movement. They’ll then step into the roles of storybook characters featured in the royal wedding celebration—like Little Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots, among others. Through choreography and creative exploration, dancers will bring each character’s personality to life.

Ages 9+: Stepping Into the Royal Wedding Suite
Mondays 5:15 - 6:15pm
Older dancers will warm up with a blend of ballet fundamentals and modern dance principles, strengthening technique while expanding artistry. They will learn and perform choreography inspired by the wedding divertissement, combining classical ballet vocabulary with contemporary movement to bring fresh dimension to each character. From the elegance of classical variation to the grounded quality of modern dance, dancers will explore how familiar fairy tale roles can be reimagined through movement.
