ABOUT THE SHOW
Now entering its 13th season, ALDEN MOVES Dance Theater’s annual Nutcracker is the highlight of our students’ holiday season. Classes are about learning and having fun, but the adventure comes with the excitement of the costumes, lights, and the opportunity to put what we’ve learned in class into a greater context. This is where teamwork plays a central role in your dancer’s training, and our production makes it a true family affair. A defining feature of the experience is the chance our students have to work with the professional dancers who dance some of the leading roles, guiding students and audience members in their participation in the event. The show holds a role for every dancer who values the opportunity to bring it to life each year—it has helped shape the studio community, and it remains one of the most exciting adventures into dance that we offer. |

Rehearsals begin the week of October 12
JR CAST MEMBERS
If the full cast member commitment is more than your dancer is available for or they are too young to audition, they can still be a part of the holiday magic. Jr. Cast Members have a single role rehearsal for more of an improvisational role and then join us for the full cast rehearsals leading up to the show in December. Because our show evolves each year to add variety and accommodate dancer growth, available Jr. Cast Member roles will only be determined once full-cast casting is complete. Though not everything covered in the Parents Meeting will be applicable to Jr. Cast Members, it will still help parents of Jr. cast members to attend this meeting.
